Colorful Cholula with San Antonio Wall
Cholula, Mexico
Photographer: Morgan Whitney

The main photograph was taken on my way back from a hike while I was living in Cholula, Mexico in 2004. The second image, imposed on the pink and white wall reads, “I love tacos so much,” and is San Antonio’s take on the famous “I love you so much” wall found in Austin. I met with the creator of this San Antonio site, Luis Munoz, and he talked about the satire and humor that inspired the idea. Knowing that the streets of Mexico are marked with signage painted directly on the walls, the final image is meant to reflect the strong Mexican influence in San Antonio, a.k.a. Northern Mexico.
